Picking 3 years of music (1 Viewer)

So far there have been no eta were rap or even decent dance music exists
Does not speak well of the board atm
As the T-shirt that I got at the Madness concert on The President said : “**** Art, Let’s Dance”
Important words in these here times

People tend to gravitate toward music they grew up on.

I remember early rap like Run DMC but I was already entrenched in rock when rap evolved and became a vehicle for talented musicians and writers.

It doesn't mean I don't appreciate rappers like Tupac or Eminem.

As far as dance music, I like swing. I'm very white, I guess.

You chose Bach instead of rap or dance music. Nice choice. I like Bach.

To each his own.

89, 90, 91

The beginnings of gangster rap and grunge/alt. Just as world-changing as any three years you could pick in the 70s (which would probably be my 1b choice).

Catching the up and comings of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Faith no More, Lenny Kravitz, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, NWA, LL Cool J, Alice in Chains, Ice T, 2pac, Smashing Pumpkins, Naughty by Nature. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch.

Plus catching either prime years or late years of GNR, The Cure, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Queen, Black Crowes, Neil Young, George Michael, AC/DC, Prince, Van Morrison, U2, Metallica, Stevie Ray, Van Halen etc.

Those three years were a musical renaissance that is hard to top.

94-96. Good rock music and rap. STP , Alice in Chains, Dr Dre, SoundGarden

81-83 EVH at his peak and lots of other great rock/pop bands.

Edit: I thnk would have to adjust that to 1982-1984. I actually thought Van Halen's 1984 was actually released in 1983 (basec on the copyright), but apparently it was, actually released in 1984.

I would look at 1971-1973. Lots of great albums from those years...

Sticky Fingers
Led Zeppelin IV
Meddle
Imagine
Live at Fillmore East
What's Going On
Pearl
LA Woman
Aqualung
Every Picture Tells a Story
Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
Harvest
Exile on Main Street
SuperFly
Eat a Peach
Dark Side of the Moon
Houses of the Holy
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Lynyrd Skynyrd (Pronounced...)
Three Dog Night-Cyan

First album I ever bought with my own money. The next two were Cheech and Chong (first album) and Big Bambu. :hihi:

The first 33 1/3 albums I got were 2 Johnny Cash--I Walk the Line and Man in Black

I had to chose between Fair Warning and 1984 for Van Halen.

Fair Warning is a better album plus overall I think 1981 produced better albums than 1984.
