Can you imagine how difficult it must be for those guys to create a game plan for this team now?

This aint just "go tackle Deangelo Williams and catch passes from delhomme"... damn these guys must be getting 3 hours of sleep a night maximum!

later post by jeff duncan suggests otherwise (thomas was wearing a "heavy" brace on his knee):

Despite Pierre Thomas' (knee) return to a full practice Wednesday, Saints beat writer Jeff Duncan doesn't expect Thomas to play in Week 2.

did y'all click on the link? Jeff Duncan went on to say he was wearing a heavy brace and doubted he would play this week :idunno:

When Payton says it, then I'll believe it. Nothing against Duncan, but it's just his opinion.

Bell's performance Sunday gives Payton the luxury of being absolutely sure Thomas is ready to go. I could see Thomas being activated but used only if really needed or just for a couple plays to see how he does.

Competition ... real competition for playing time is the motivating factor. Bell's performance should give motivation to Thomas and Bush to work extra hard to earn playing time. Still convinced that no one running back will dominate ... last week, Bell. This week, probably Bell again ... but Thomas. Bush and Hamilton will also get their chances. It's a long season, and RBs take a lot of punishment. We'll need all of them, including Evans.

I don't think he will play in Philly. Knee was swollen up and I think he will be 50/50 to go active. I say set him for another week. Let the Bell Cow and Lynell Da Hammer pound some heads...:mwink:

We need all the healthy players we can get down the stretch...
