When Payton says it, then I'll believe it. Nothing against Duncan, but it's just his opinion.

Just Duncan's opinion, yes. But it makes sense to me. Who knows.

Bell's performance Sunday gives Payton the luxury of being absolutely sure Thomas is ready to go. I could see Thomas being activated but used only if really needed or just for a couple plays to see how he does.

Competition ... real competition for playing time is the motivating factor. Bell's performance should give motivation to Thomas and Bush to work extra hard to earn playing time. Still convinced that no one running back will dominate ... last week, Bell. This week, probably Bell again ... but Thomas. Bush and Hamilton will also get their chances. It's a long season, and RBs take a lot of punishment. We'll need all of them, including Evans.
