Not here to bash the offense or defense ... I've seen both play relatively well and bad at times.
Just wanted to point out something that I have seen in our losses and something that has been visible to me since last season.
I think in a pivotal situation where it is a close game with under 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter , we should be in 4 down territory. Its hard enough to defend us on 3 downs. A 4 down mindset I think opens the playbook much more , cools the nerves , drains the clock , and puts the pressure on the defense to stop us , rather than for us to get it all in 3 downs.
We often try to get it in 3 plays , punt and never see the ball again or when we do get a hold of it have little time and no timeouts.
I think that adjustment alone is the difference between 0-2 and 2-0.
We keep sending our defense out there as if they're the Seattle Seahawks or Denver Broncos units.
