Back on Saturday, October 28th, while the Ravens were in town for the game against the Saints, a busload of Ravens fans joined a group of Saints fans for a few hours of volunteer work out at Goretti Playground.

Our group of Baltimore fans were humbled by the state of the neighborhoods we drove through on the way from the downtown hotel to the playground. Many neighborhoods were still unoccupied, many roofs covered with blue tarps, many front yards had trailers sitting in them.

We knew there was still a lot of work to be done in New Orleans and we wanted to offer some assistance while we were in town for the game. The Playground Partnership was the perfect opportunity!

We spent 3 hours working at the playground - cleaning-up and making some minor repairs. We made friends with some of the local Saints fans - also out there donating their time for the cause. Use this link to a few more pictures from the October 28th playground clean-up: http://www.ravensroost4.com/2006_nawlins_cleanup.htm

The Ravens Roosts and the Ravens Nests (Baltimore Ravens fan clubs) would like to thank the City of New Orleans and the Saints fans participating in the Goretti Playground cleanup for their gracious hospitality.

We challenge the visiting Bengals fans to get out there tomorrow and help make a difference! We also encourage more local Saints fans to get out there as well! A few hours of your time can go a long way.

And finally, as Ravens fans, we will be cheering for the Saints to beat the Bengals on Sunday in the Dome! Here's hoping to see the Ravens and Saints meet again in the Super Bowl!

Go Saints! Go Ravens!
