METAIRIE — The New Orleans Saints return to work today preparing for three different potential opponents in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.
The Saints, who have a bye this week, know they will play Philadelphia, Dallas or Seattle on Jan. 13 or 14. They won’t know which of those teams they will play until the wild-card round concludes Sunday night.
“We’re doing a lot of film work,” Payton said Wednesday at his weekly news conference. “We’ll continue to do that (today). The players will be in for a team meeting. We’ll lift and run. Friday we’ll have a practice.”
The players have been off since Sunday, when they ended the regular season with a 31-21 loss to Carolina in which several starters saw little or no action.
