There are 32 teams in the NFL who all began the season with 0-0 records.

As of today, 24 of those teams will be playing their last game of the season in two weeks.

Only 12 of 32 those teams will see their seasons continue after 12/17.

Of the twelve teams that will go into the post season, SIX have already been determined, with two weeks still to go in the season:

Four have already clinched their Divisions:

Indy
SD
Chicago
Saints

Two more have at least guaranteed themselves a playoff berth and should win their divisions by week 17:

Cowboys
Ravens

Yes, it would have been great to accent our division title with a win today, but it is what it is.

It's a far cry from being picked to finish dead last by the so-called experts and even some Saints "fans" at the beginning of the season.

I'm sure there are 24 other teams who would trade places with our Saints in a heart beat.

How many people left the dome today not knowing that we were division champs? People were looking at me like I was crazy with my Divison Champs hat on. I think the walk out would have been less ho hum.

NFC South champs....you can't beat that. A new season is going to start on 12/17 and hopefully we have a bye. Our team will be showing a different side however, Hollis and Joe will be back. Are we expecting any other guys back?

Don't be so fast to award the East to Dallas, Philly is playing well and would enjoy nothing more than beat Dallas next week and swoop in at the last moment and "steal" the division title.

I'm almost over the sting of losing to the Redskins, and pretty happy about the Division crown. I just want two more wins to molify me before we lock and load for the playoffs..

Didn't award it to them.. I said they earned a playoff berth and should (not will) win their division. I agree with you. I think Philly will beat them also.

d3cyph3r, I would venture to say that about 98% of fans didn't realize. I kept trying to get people who were just besides themselves with the loss to look at the positive. They weren't having it. I wish I woulda ran into you and the 2% who did realize that we still hold all the cards. IT'S ALL GOOD!!!!!!!!!

No kidding. I'm going to blame the Dome PA Team for this, because not only were the stats throughout the whole first half incorrect on the board (they were using our offensive stats total from 2 weeks ago), but at the end of the game, they could have at least announced "With Pittsburgh leading the Panthers 37-3, with 2 minutes left, the New Orleans Saints are minutes away from being your 2006 NFC South Champions!!!"

Um, 12/17 was yesterday, they still have reg season games till 12/31, or 1/1.
new season isn't until January for the playoffs.
