The NFL, or at least the NFC, is a week-to-week league. 1-3 in the last 4 is bad, but the Saints are fortunate that all of those "L"s are out of conference. There is plenty of time left to build new momentum, if it is there to be built. Could be we're too young and too short on quality defenders.
My 10-6 plan for the season included:
4-2 in the South
2-2 vs. AFC No
2-2 vs. NFC East
2-0 vs. "schedule games" (GB and SF)
So now the Saints just need to either beat ATL or DAL or NYG on the road, coupled w/ games I had marked as "W"s (WAS, SF and CAR) to get back to 10-6 and guaranteed playoffs.
But more importantly, if the Saints do go 4-2 over the last six, they will have that momentum to carry over into possible playoff success.
The Saints can either learn from this stretch or were just flat exposed. I have faith that this staff and team can at least go 3-3 over the final six. That may be good enough. Either way, this year has been gravylicious.
Peace to all the SSFers. Y'all keep the faith. Geaux Saints!!!
