I also want to share a little trick the deputies in a certain county in MS use as an excuse to pull you over....they will haul arse right up to your bumper, then back off a bit and wait for you to get so nervous that your tires touch the white line, then pull you over. I'm sure they aren't the only ones that do this.
i don't think we want the police to be the arbiters of the 4th amendment
we need to narrow their ability to interpret the law not widen it - or put them through several years of training, not a few weeks

JOLIET, Ill. (CBS) — Another man has died in police custody, and there are accusations that Joliet police tried to cover it all up – including a video that was buried for five months.

CBS 2 investigator Dave Savini spoke exclusively with the man’s widow.

Joliet Mayor Bob O’Dekirk said he had “grave concerns” Tuesday night after watching a police video that he said was withheld from him for five months.

We learned it shows police hitting a man in handcuffs and putting police baton into his mouth. That man ultimately died.

“That was my soulmate – my best friend,” said Nicole Lurry, “and for him to just be gone in a blink of an eye, it tears me up inside.”

Lurry said she has been denied access to all police reports involving the January night her husband, Eric Lurry, died after being in police custody.

“I’ve tried to get answers from Joliet Police Department, and they won’t give me any answers to what happened,” Nicole Lurry said……..

In June, three Florida prison guards who boasted of being white supremacists beat, pepper sprayed and used a stun gun on an inmate who screamed “I can’t breathe!” at a prison near the Alabama border, according to a fellow inmate who reported it to the state.

The next day, the officers at Jackson Correctional Institution did it again to another inmate, the report filed with the Florida Department of Corrections’ Office of Inspector General stated.

“If you notice these two incidents were people of color. They (the guards) let it be known they are white supremacist,” the inmate Jamaal Reynolds wrote. “The Black officers and white officers don’t even mingle with each other. Every day they create a hostile environment trying to provoke us so they can have a reason to put their hands on us.”……..
