Popeye's Chicken Sandwich (2 Viewers)

Do they still taste good? I mean I have driven past Gary on the way south, but never stopped. A friend of mine told me there was one in the city but he said I should not go there. Which is really a shame. You know one thing that people can always find common ground in is food. No matter how different 2 people are, good food just makes for good conversations.
They're all over Chicago but in bad neighborhoods.

My local grocery store has chicken that is about equal to most chains and I don't have to wait as long.

My two local Popeyes have been ridiculously busy. One had a full parking lot and cars wrapped around the building, and the other had cars lined up to get in from both sides of the street.

the lives of employees who generally enjoy a stress free environment where they can spend quality time socializing through facetime or in the parking lot, playing candy crush, hanging out in the back smoking whatever they want, using relatively clean seating sharing stories about their kids and grandkids, experimenting with new hairstyles or otherwise de-compressing from the confrontation with the occassional rude person that comes in to demand food.

I love that Popeye's charm. That certain je ne sais quoi. That little touch of passive aggressive annoyance lagniappe.

If I go into a Popeye's and they're all warm and nice to me, I'm going to another Popeye's because you don't want to trust that. Something is definitely up.

I've seen Get Out.

that show was hell, but it was the only cartoon on at that time. The audience was insufferable, and then you would have to watch a cartoon from the Christian ghost Jot. Man, that show sucked.
1/2 the show was watching 6yr olds stuff their face with chicken
Weird

I was so looking forward to getting one for lunch today.

Also, if they're "out" of the chicken sandwiches, where did they get the hundred of them they showed in that commercial that wasn't footage of people in the stores?

bastages.

Man @Oye, You always seem to have the proper outlook on stuff. I am not sure if it ticks me off or makes me jealous.

Same here in the Carolinas. The fried chicken from Lowes (the supermarket, not the home improvement store) is very good.

Same was true for the cheesecake from Giant in the DC metro area. Their plain cheesecake wedge was better than any cheesecake everywhere, even the Cheesecake Factory.

I don't think we are in New Orleans anymore Toto.

todays fun fact: Terry (Toto) was actually in 13 different films. I am afraid that WOZ type cast her though so she probably was underappreciated and could have landed other large roles.

Does it happen to be Krispy Krunchy? It is very very good chicken and it is usually in Gas Stations.

I agree that the Krispy Krunchy CAN be good, but it all depends on the gas station. Some will serve you chicken that was fried the day before if it didn't sell while it was fresh. I'm sure they aren't supposed to do that but some stations definitely do. And those same stations can also be ones that have some of the really good chicken when fresh, so it just depends on when you go, and that makes me weary of getting it. At least with fast food places, they typically are either good or bad all of the time, so you know where to go and where to avoid.

Krispy Krunchy can be very good, but it wrecks me worse than Popeye's does.

I don't even know what a McHardy's is and I've lived here all my life. Is it new? Where's it at? I'm always down to try somewhere new.

It's on Broad between Orleans and Ursulines. I'm pretty sure they "broast" their chicken (pressure fry). I have had very good chicken from there, but last time the pieces were really small and it was all pretty marginal.

Dude, you’re missing out. On Broad near Esplanade. It’s been there awhile, at least 15 years from what I remember.
Get the 3 piece with beans and rice. It will change your life. I went last week when everyone was talking about this damn sandwich.
