Rescued this pit/hound mix named Brenda right before Christmas. She is a little firecracker.

I don't have any pictures of Holly here at work - will post later. She's a Beagle/Wire Hair Terrier mix, and is now almost 5 months old. We rescued her from the Pearl River County SPCA on 12/4/07, and we love her. But since this is a pet thread, I wanted to ask a question - when does the loyalty set in for dogs? This is the first I've owned, and she seems to really like us, but I still get the feeling that anyone who shows her an inch of kindness could take her home without a fight from her, and she wouldn't miss us. Is this due to her age, and will it change once she becomes an adult?

We feed her well, she answers to her name, we keep her clean, we don't hit her when we discipline her, and I've spoiled her rotten already. But, whenever someone comes over, even strangers to her, she goes right to them, doesn't bark, lets them pick her up, licks their faces, and she even followed my dad out the door when he first met her for Christmas. Is this common with puppies?

I would argue that it is very common for puppies. They look for all the attention they can get no matter the source. Given time and proper discipline, your dog will come to know you as her pack leader.

Are cats allowed in here??

I adopted my cat Diamond from the shelter last June. That heffa has turned me into a cat lover....She is the best cat ever, and I've even taught her how to 'sit' on command.

You must've had them fixed. I hear they gain weight when they get spayed/neutered :hihi:
