2013 New Orleans Saints Draft

1st Round (trade back to #22 with STL) – Desmond Trufant – CB (Washington)
***trade makes since because they have multiple picks and will be willing to sacrifice a second rounder to grab Chance Warmack. They also pick at #16, I say they will get Vaccarro with that pick. This trade would be of great value to both teams! Desmond Trufant is a shut down corner with EXCELLENT man coverage ability, we need that right now obviously. Ryan’s defense will count on this more than the other DC’s, hence, the reason he traded so far up into the 1st last year to get Claiborne.

2nd Round (from STL pick #48 overall) – Jesse Williams - NT (Bama)

3rd Round – Chris Faulk - OT (LSU)

4th Round – Brandon Jenkins - OLB (Florida State)

4th Round (from trade of a RB) – Chase Thomas - OLB (Stanford)

5th Round – Devin Thomas - DE (South Carolina)

6th Round – Corey Fuller – WR (Virginia Tech)

7th Round – Mario Benavides – C (Louisville)

Free Agency Targets
-Connor Barwin – OLB (Houston Texans)
-Phillip Wheeler – OLB (Oakland Raiders)
-Dannell Ellerbee – ILB (Baltimore Ravens)
-Larry Grant – ILB (SF 49ers)
-Jared Cook – TE (Tennesse Titans)
-Andre Smith – OT (Cincinnati Bengals)

I don’t think FS will be a huge problem, I can see FS being taken over by IAQ.

Only RB we possibly get a 4th for is Sproles and I doubt we trade him. Kyle Long can be had in the 3rd and Chase Thomas can be had in 4th or 5th after his stock fell at senior bowl.

I like the first round CB pick.

Two NTs? I take it Bunkley is gone in your scenario?

Well I was editing things around. No, I think we keep Bunkley and Williams develops under him. He's an awesome run-stopper, just needs to develop into more of a pass rusher, but we will have that for the most part in other players.

not really thrilled with this one, mine might be if we got lucky , used nfldraftscout for places they might be in the draft.

1 st after dropping to #23 Xavier Rhodes or Jessie Williams
pick up 300pts so about a 3rd this year and 2nd next year. with the

3rd we take
Tony Jefferson/ or Bacarri Rambo/Cobi Hamilton wr.

4th pick: Corey Lemonier

5th pick:Kwame Geathers/Montori Hughes/honey badger if he falls this far

6th pick : Joe Kruger

7th:/FA:

I like this draft too

I've said this before, but any mock where we trade down is not realistic. Our FO has never shown that inclination since 06. We are much more likely to target a player and trade up.

I know we all want to believe we'll have a second rounder, but it will not happen unless the FO goes way off the norm. Also, we need to make sure when doing mocks to not over value our players. Anything more than a 5th for anybody not named Brees is most likely too much. Think about this, if Santonio Holmes was only worth a 4th after being a superbowl mvp. How much will a rb be that only played 6 games last season? Sproles might command a 4th, but honestly, if someone else wanted him that bad, they would have paid him when he was a fa.

Although I am not sold on Jesse Williams, I would love this draft.
