Unfortunately not, PFT was going through this a few weeks ago with the Cook situation and the new CBA states:
“[T]he tender will apply to the position in which the player participated in the most plays,” declares Article 9, Section 2 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
That's an ambiguous rule. How do you determine the position played in plays. Is it where he lined up? If so, was it were he lined up pre-snap or where he was at the snap? Or is it the role of the player during the play? Or is it the position the coach determined he was playing on a particular play?
If there is a dispute between Graham and the Saints, the NFL will stand behind whatever position the Saints' say Graham played.
