Apparently the 49ers are interested in Tavon Austin, but so are the Vikings and Rams

I can definitely see the Vikings calling to leap frog the Rams for him. But what if the 49ers come calling to leap frog them both? They definitely have the ammo to do so with multiple picks in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds.

The Saints should be interested in Tavon Austin.

Why??

Marques Colson/Nick Toon
Joseph Morgan (plethora of UDFA speedsters)
Lance Moore

I can see why but we can get another burner later in the draft and we aren't exactly WEAK@ the receiver position. I do agree we need a gamebreaker but Morgan/Toon are basically 2 draft picks.

I agree. I'd draft the guy just to keep him out of the NFC! That'd be considered drafting "Defensively"... right?

Not only that with our FA signings we are positioning ourself to being able to draft really BPA. If SP wants him, we should take him. Not telling that man no to anything.

You ask me why and then say you can see why, not sure how to answer. No one is saying we are weak at the WR position, I love Joe Morgan, but I have no idea if he is going to be able to rise as THE go to deep threat guy all the time. Austin is an instant playmaker that would make this offense that much more uncontainable.

i dont know how i'd feel about drafting 31st, even with all of the extra acquired picks from the niners. there would still be solid players sure, but no impact players left

Lets say Colston goes down for a few weeks...
Would you be comfortable with Toon, Moore, and Morgan out there?

Agree with this.

Wouldn't say the team is weak at WR, but wouldn't exactly call it a strength either. I'd lean defense or perhaps OT, but would have no problem if the team drafted Austin. He looks like a game breaker.

Dolphins wouldn't work since they are drafting @12 and moving up from 44 to 15 would cost them too much. Our best bet would be the Vikings trade our 1st and next years 2nd for both of their 1st rounders this year.

I don't want to trade any more future picks, much less just so someone can move up.

Since we're throwing out outrageous scenarios today: The 9ers first and Pat Willis for our first.

(That wasn't a serious post)
