The New Orleans Saints traded up in the 2019 NFL Draft, selecting Texas A&M center Erik McCoy with a second-round pick. He was the team’s first addition in the draft and figures to help out an offensive line that ranked among the NFL’s best a year ago. It’s easy to imagine his fit in-between Pro Bowlers like Larry Warford, Terron Armstead, and Andrus Peat.

But what if things don’t go swimmingly right from the jump? Everything that’s happened so far suggests success for McCoy, but players haven’t even practiced in pads yet. Here’s our predictions for the best- and worst-case results for the top pick in the latest Saints draft class.
