If the Saints cut every WR outside of MT or TQS, how many of them would make it on an active roster week 1? And, even if the Saints cut TQS, I don't think any team in the league considers him for the #2 role.

Deonte Harris and Calloway would make any roster in the NFL....if they can both stay healthy this year (SP needs to stop running Deonte on those jet sweeps and let him just be a WR) I think folks will be very pleasantly surprised....

I don't think they should use Harris as anything but a return specialist unless they're desperate. Not that he isn't good at it but because I don't think he can take the beating. He not just short he's small. They're going to beat him up and we won't have him for what he's really outstanding at, kick and punt returns.

Did you see him against the Bears in the playoffs? He was the best WR on the field that day. Great hands and great after the catch....I would prefer that they find another returner and make him a WR.....Returning kicks and punts is riskier anyways....it would be cool if he could somehow add 10lbs of muscle then he would be in the Tyreek Hill range of size....

I agree that if Harris could bulk up a little and keep his speed, he could be a very good receiver. But as it is, he's far more valuable as a returner and the Saints suffer a bit when he's not on the field.

LJH was on the practice squad for most of last season. But, he averaged 15.3 yards per game to Callaway's 10.1 yards per game. So, no. I don't think that Callaway has done enough to distinguish himself that he would be guaranteed a spot on another teams roster if he were cut by the Saints.

There are plenty of UDFA receivers in the league just as good as Callaway at this point. Saints fans tend to overvalue what they have at receiver outside of MT because Drew makes them look better than they really are and the Saints have had such a lack of talent at the position for so long. That said, I like him better than any other receiver on the Saints roster outside of MT.

I just wish the Saints had more proven talent at WR. Without MT, I can see Winston trying to force the ball when he shouldn't and start throwing more picks because the Saints are struggling to move the ball. Likewise, I can see Taysom getting sack-fumbles from holding the ball too long because nobody can get open. Hopefully, the young guys step up.

I get the proven talent comment. But I think you are dead wrong about Calloway. When I saw him play he reminded me of Colston, not that he had that big an impact but just that he knew exactly where to be and has great hands. He was open...often....I think he will get even better with time and experience. YPC with such a small sample size is a meaningless stat IMO....

LJH is hyped by a few guys on this board, from what I've seen he is very raw and not that athletic, he does have size and good hands, not sure if he even makes the team though....

I'm not really a fan of LJH, either. I was just pointing out that Callaway's production is easily replaceable with a UDFA up to this point. I like Callaway too. It's just that the Saints have had a number of UFDAs that they were high on that never panned out so I'm a bit cautious given the recent history. But, I hope you're right. But, TQS and Callaway as #1 and #2 is pretty darn scary, though.

I honestly have no expectations about this season. With all the guys we lost in key positions, and now injuries and suspensions, I have no expectations of a Superbowl. This is the first season in a long time i have felt like this.

We are rebuilding and I will cheer them on win, lose, or draw.

Who Dat!!!!

Do not forget that we have a division champ schedule, and TB does not. Very difficult schedule this year.
While technically correct, the schedules differ by only a couple of games.

At home, the Bucs get the Bears while the Saints get the Packers. Advantage Bucs UNLESS Rodgers retires or opts out for the season, which flips the advantage to the Saints.

On the road, the Bucs get the Colts and the Rams while the Saints get the Titans and the Seahawks. Facing the Titans or the Colts this year is a toss-up in my opinion (Colts could be the tougher matchup)... and facing the Rams with Stafford at the helm vs facing Seattle with Wilson is pretty much a toss-up as well.

All in all, the differences in the Saints' and Bucs' schedules is miniscule in my opinion.

You're wasting your time bro. They overvalue and overrate the hell out of the WRs on this team (besides MT). Leave it to this group and Austin Carr is a viable #2 or #3. When in actuality, the only WR we have on this roster that other teams would want is MT. And that includes TE.

That's right, they are all terrible, man why even bother to watch....I don't think believing Calloway could be an impact player is overrating him, I see the potential in him...we will see what happens as the season goes on....

We have depth at a lot of positions, the question is quality. For example, we have a lot of guys at WR but can any of them give us quality production by forcing double coverage or coming through in the clutch.
Not only do we not have a #1 receiver with Thomas potentially having another lost season, we don't even have a #2. That's the even bigger problem going into the season. We gave a bunch of 3s, 4s and 5s. With a new starting QB. Not great timing to have such an issue.

What a huge screw up! The chance of a lifetime.
