Same old story for last 3-4 years.

We lose the TO battle and we are a .500 team.

It's not brain science or rocket surgery. :idunno:

Yes it's preseason, but it's still the SOS.

It's not just the turnovers. We are weak team up front on offense. Can't block diddly poo right now.

Don't fix that we will still be awful.

It's basic football.

I don't think it's that simple.

I mean, in the strict sense of this game, maybe given how well the defense played. But we've got worse issues. Namely the OL. We can not turn the ball over ever and still lose with this group up front unless some things are fixed.

When you can't run the ball, this is what I expect from a Sean Payton team. Timing on routes are off and we either get knocked off or tip passes to the opposing team. Thank god it's preseason.

I was at the game and when Lewis started as returner you could tell from Murphy's body language that he was not happy. He was standing all by himself by the bench when everyone was up. I saw several players come up to him and tap his helmet or his shoulder pad like "hang in there".

Not just Murphy. I saw his press conference. This is the first time in a very long time he is calling telling like it is with players. He said he will find another returner. Plus he called Coleman "pedestrian", describing how he catches the ball and how he isn't doing the things he needs to do. He called out the offensive line. I am actually liking that he is calling them out. He seriously need to fix this.

It's time Payton starts shaking things up a bit. It will be an interesting week of practice for sure.

And another thing. Stop reading into all these videos of spectacular catches from Michael Thomas. No doubt he will be a good receiver. But as of now, he is still a rookie trying to understand how to play in this league. His route running still need to be work on. I know the interception is all Brees, but Thomas running into a defender didn't help either.

Defender got away with holding too.

I can't buy any of that. Stop reading into it? Like it doesn't matter? No WR has ever done these things his first training camp ever. None. That isn't something I'll ever just ignore. And then his firist actual NFL action, he continues to make big catches? Yeah, he's not the best WR to ever play already. But I'm not going to take some half measure in my excitement here. Otherwise, what's the whole point of even watching? If he fizzles somehow, so be it. But that's not happened yet.

As for that interception, McKinney ran into him. What is a WR even supposed to do to avoid that without the power of hindsight?
