Now that the Saints signed Dan Morgan, and having Vilma & Morgan play at the LB position, how realistic is to expect them to draft a LB in the first rd? I say the LB position is no longer a critical need in shoring up the defense. Also, having signed Gay the CB position is somewhat adequate, although there the jury is still out. There is a chance that the Saints might go CB in the first rd......
But it looks to me that we're heading into this draft looking for an impact DT, IMHO....and I think the Saints are positioning themselves to either jump ahead for one of the premier DTs in the draft, or we're looking for a blockbuster deal to go after A Haynesworth, if he is available. This is the only position which we didn't touch yet. A playmaker DT in the draft will make this front 7 way above average, especially that Will Smith wants to rebound after a mediocre last season. If we mange to land one of the 2 DTs, we are primed to make a run at the playoffs.....if we can trade for Haynesworth.....well that would be even better! We could end up going to the Big Dance!
So, what its gonna be?...a DT, or CB in the first?
