PS3 starts 2008 on a good note (1 Viewer)

Yeah, market saturation like what the PS2 has will only be achieved with price decreases on all of the consoles.

One other reason the PS2 is still selling briskly is that 7 years later most of the first gen machines aren't still in operation. They've had three different builds for the ps2...the original, slim and now the silver one that's out. If you're a tech geek (like me) you'll end up buying every SKU just to say you have it. It's the reason I have a 360, a 360 Elite, a Wii, and a PS3.

I like to have......stuff....you know?:hihi:

yeh, but apparenlty your not smart enough to choose between BluRay, HD DVD, both or neither.

sorry, some things are just hard to let go of...

Since the Xbox 360 has over 9 million more users then the PS3, it comes as no suprise that the PS3 is SLOWLY gaining a little ground.

But as you see though, the 360 is killing the PS3 in software sales. Money isnt made by selling systems, it's made by the software (games) and the 360 is actually getting even futher ahead in that.

Though im getting a PS3 soon, because I hate MS overall. The xbox 360 is just a cheap system.

Everybody has their 360 already. They've sold many millions more to date than Sony has sold PS3's.

So, it only makes sense that PS3 sales are starting to catch up - there are more people without them.

The key, as Super Quincy stated, is to look at software sales.

Like Zug said, 9 million or so 360's were sold so far and 41 million PS2's were sold to date, IIRC. There's still a whole lot of people without next gen systems. I think the PS3 has sold somewhere around 3-4 million. I don't know where I read that, but I had to come across it somewhere.

so are you suggesting that once everyone else starts to upgrade to high def that they will most likely choose a product that is all around solid or go with the one that just seems to be missing something(s)

Nah, I was just pointing out that the 360 has a long way to go until "everybody" has one. :)

Well not to cause a :gayfight: or anything, but the point is that the people making the jump to next gen all pretty much have their 360's, thus the PS3 sales catching up. But of course that was understood by all anyway :)
