Considering "The Hat" and I are both getting the PS3 can the 'fan boys' help some brothers out and tell us what we:

A: Need to get
B: Should get
C: Need to look for in the future
D: Should stay away from

So that we may enjoy our PS3's to the max.

Note: I have a 360 which I've been enjoying so far so I'm looking more towards PS3 Exclusive type stuff

ratchet and clank, uncharted: drake's fortune are two game worth a rental.....i bought R&C but i was already a fan of the series and i have played it through twice already....DF is worth i playthrough at least once....very pretty game

motorstorm is fun racing game you might be able to pick up on the cheap from ebay....i bought an unopened cpy for $30....

burnout is money, not exclusive, but if you haven't played it, it's worth the money for either system

HDMI cable (assuming that you have an HDTV)

Warhawk, of course.

dont buy extra contollers. New ones with rumble will be coming out soon.
Antipop's recommendations are very good. If youre into card games give eye of judgement a chance, it's pretty fun. Warhawk is a fun mp only game.

Get a cover to protect it from dust from the non use. That's what I did. Serious, the black finish gets dusty fast.

comes with the same video adapter that PS2 uses.

My main TV is HD, but it's not HDMI. It's old school HD rear projection. Maybe I should upgrade that first.

You are getting one at a great time, there are going to be lots of good things happening this year on PS3....

I got mine at launch and kinda wish I had waited, although I did get Talledega Nights free with mine....The games have just been sparse but I think that's gonna be history this year!

If you have component or DVI, you will be fine (although you may have to jump through hoops with adapters), but you still need a new TV.

If you don't have an HDMI cable you should check out monoprice.com. They have some good but also cheap prices.
Yea, I am also going to have to go with one of these HDMI switches ($18.50), I have been looking at also. I have ran out of HD inputs between the 360, Wii and Home Stereo (Progressive Scan).
