1. Do you think when it is obvious that a QB is throwing away a ball to avoid a sack, outside of the pocket and doesn't get flagged for intentional grounding that this should or should not count against his completion percentage?

all should remain here - if you are that worried about the stats, you are doing it wrong.

Everybody is worried about stats. It's how the winners are determined and before you say "No, it isn't. It's points", I'd like to point out that points are stats.

Stats are also what's used to determine HOF candidates, contracts and player evaluations. I am not so sure that it's so wise to cavalierly dismiss a question about stats.

No. 1 should stay as is, because many times that's bad judgment or vision.

No's 2 and 3 get ambiguous. A receiver can be charged with a drop, and the QB charged with an incompletion on the same play. That's like saying a reciever gets a catch and the DB gets a defense on the same play. It can't happen.

incomplete pass = incomplete pass. That means the refs spot the ball at the original line of scrimmage.

A completed pass signifies the QB avoided any pressure, threw the ball accurately enough to get it near a receiver, said receiver has the ability to evade his defender and grab the ball, and hold it long enough to make a football move. If this completed pass is granted then the refs will spot the ball where the receiver is tackled, and the scorekeeper pencils it in as a completed pass.

I learned about all this when Unitas was still playing.

for general fans - just keep it the way it is mostly for comparisomn sake since that's the way its always been

however if an qb's agent wants to go in with "revised" stats w/ drops vs incompletions, i have no problem with that
