Do you guys think that he could be a rush linebacker in the nfl, in the mold of a shawn merriman? At 6'3 254 i think he's quick enough to be special.

He is a great player, I have watched that guy dominate games almost single handedly! This past year he missed some games (Toe injury), but when he got healthy again he was a force. I like him a lot! I don't know how fast he runs, but if made the right time I would think he would make an excellent OLB. His instincts are great, he is always around the ball.

I like Groves and that's saying a lot because I am not an AU supporter at all. Big Bama fan here, but Groves is a monster when he's healthy. I know he had some injury problems this year but if he's past that, I agree. He fits the Shawn Merriman mold.

I think he is better suited to play in a 3-4 as OLB, not so much a 4-3. From what I know of him, he is one dimensional, meaning he cant drop back like a typical 4-3 OLB.

I dont think he fits our scheme.

So if you were the front office would you drop back 5 or 6 spots and hopefully get a 2nd or 3rd round pick, then draft groves? I'm saying this cause the saints got no pressure from the front four and even when they blitzed linebackers they couldn't get to the quarterback. Without somebody to get to the quarterback it won't matter if you have champ bailey and ed reed back there

Very good assessment. He's a stud in 3-4 system. Is he gifted enough to play in a 4-3? I don't know but he's a prototype 3-4 linebacker at 6-3, 254.

I know people on this board get upset at the thought of drafting another DE in the 1st rd. But with both will smith and charles grant being more bull rushers than speed rushers, and maybe it's because the d-line gets no pressure up the middle, I just think that the saints need somebody fast and special on the end, and your not going to find somebody like that in free agency.

I'd take him in the 2nd if Crable is off the board... he can be our passrushing specialist. Mark Anderson did wonders for the Bears defense in his rookie year as the pass rusing guy... and groves could do the same with his speed off the edge.

I think he would be a good pickup, a guy that can put his hand down and rush the passer only makes for a more versatile defense, pass defense can be taught, if he has a problem dropping into coverage and you coordinator can adjust his scheme to hide whatever he may lack in that area, a guy like him and Crable are what this defense needs, versatile players who have the ability to make plays in the back field, we been stuck one dimensional players for two long, whatever there weakness is, coach them!!!!!

He played at linebacker in the 4-3 towards the end of this season, but if we were to draft him he should play DE. He dislocated three toes at the same time in the Auburn/Florida game and ended tying the record at Auburn for career sacks. He will be a force for someone, but I doubt it would be us. I'd rather drop back in the first round and select DT Pat Sims, who is an even more dominant player from the same Auburn line.

As a life long Alabama fan I can definatly say I hate Groves and would love to see him in the Black and Gold. In Brodie's last Game against that other team from Alabama Groves hit him so many times and so hard I literally feard for Brodie's life. That guy truly is a BEAST.

I saw Groves twice in person and he really is a beast. In the K. State game this year, it was as if their OL had their feet in mud while he ran right past and straight over them. If he impresses in the combine like I think he will, he could be a very good top 10 pick. If he make it into the 2nd I'd be very surprised.
