I can think of only two football mascots that are specifically female gnder. Can you name them?
Maybe there is more.
 
Well, by "mascot" if you mean "team nickname", the Delaware Fightin' Blue Hens would be female. And while Akron's team name is the "Zips" their costumed or cartoon mascot is a kangaroo with a pouch-- so that means that one is female, too.

i was thinking of the blue hens. the zips is a good one.

The official mascot of Texas A&M is the dog Reveille. Reveille is a Collie, is considered the highest ranking member of the Corp, and is always a female.

So, officially, A&M has a female mascot.

'Aggies' (the A in A&M stands for Agricultural) is gender neutral.
