Rankins back to 100% Health and ready to go (1 Viewer)

Love having him back. He'll help, especially by taking the snaps that would otherwise go to Onyemata. But there's a cap on how much he'll help, because Fairley is playing so well (and there are only so many situations two three-technique tackles can play together in).

I'm sure he will work back in by spelling whoever is starting. Fairley is an animal, but needs to be limited on snap counts as any big guy who penetrates and throws guys around like he does. Can you imagine the offensive lineman at the end of a game with a rotation of Fairley, Rankins, Onyemata who is having some flashes, Jenkins and Davison?

So he is eligible to play this week?

Please say yes, please say yes!!!

Agreed. I'm concerned that people are expecting way too much out of Rankins out the gate. I'm kind of considering this a lost season for him. Hard to imagine him coming off an injury and never having played an NFL game, and just stepping in at mid-season to be some kind of defensive star. A lot of fans are putting immense expectations on Rankins' shoulders.

I'm of the opinion that his floor is as a sub package interior pass rush specialist. Dude is decisive and crazy quick for a big man. So, even with limited playing time going forward, he has a real chance to make a decent impact in every snap he's in on.

It's a click-bait article and part of a slide so I was unable to get the quote....

Good post EJW. Getting Rankins back in week 9 will be great.

But I want to address how far the Picayune coverage has dropped. They are more and more resorting to Bleacher Report, click-bait type slideshows than quality articles. Holder still has some good stuff. The jury is still out on the two new beat guys. Sorry for the thread-jack, but it just ticks me off.

I'm having a hard time believing that a person can be 100% so soon when you break a leg. I know absolutely nothing medical related, just saying............

This is wonderful news

Bones heal quickly and completely, especially non-weight bearing bones like the tibia.

The athletes take supplements to help healing. They used to apply electric current to the break, which also speeds up healing. Don't know if they still do that, but it was supposed to work.

I like what I've seen from both Katzenstein and Teope. I don't think the Picayune is doing enough to get their presence out there though, and the issues with the paper in general are holding them back some.

But both have had some good reads so far, imho.

I agree with you. I won't go to say it is a lost season for him but I am certainly not expecting him to be world beaters either.
