One of the newest Saints players was carted off the field after an injury during practice.

WWL Saints Sideline reporter Kristian Garic says defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins got hurt during goal line drills. Rankins was taken from the field with an air cast on his left leg.

Rankins is a rookie. The Saints took him in the first round of the NFL Draft in April.
