Agreed on Olave and Sheed’s YAC. What I fear is Shaheed not being targeted much with Winston and kind of phased out, only getting looks on shot plays late in the route, as oppose to normal drag routes + deep shots in stride like Shaheed does with Carr. Thomas’ reads doesn’t seem to consistently work with Carr right now, while it doesn’t take much for Winston to find and hit him. But Olave and Shaheed’s routes develop very easy with Carr. Maybe it’s their speed is what works better with DC. Carr reads Thomas more like a TE like he’s Juwan and that may explain why Juwan doesn’t get as many looks as it seemed like he would get during TC. Theres a noticeable difference in who or how Carr and Winston identifies/distributes their reads and targets. Thomas/Olave/JJ for Winston. Olave/Shaheed-or-Thomas with Carr. So many options to choose but few targets to go out.I have no problem with Carr targeting Olave and Sheed more. Both are better after the catch. Thomas is a great player and brings a lot to the table, but he just doesn’t get the separation like he used to. He’s also immediately down every time he catches the ball it seems. We do need to go to mike more in the redzone though. We did miss him a few times
Roll outs and stuff like that, we need to move the pocket.Pet needs to do scheme up some plays like how the Patriots use to to do with Brady. 2 step drop backs and ball is out. That could help the O-Line
Damn.. 2 different QB for different receivers.Agreed on Olave and Sheed’s YAC. I would argue the Saints are still in a strong position.Great news considering what it could have been. Now hopefully the team can get through the next 3 or 4 games with a winning record.
Makes this loss even more frustrating. If the team could have just held it together we’d still be in a strong position even with Carr gone for a month. At least our season is still very much alive.
Carr hasn't been flawless with his decision making either. He had a TD to Thomas in the end zone and threw it to Olave instead. Last week, he had a wide open RB as his safety valve and instead threw an interception. All of his interceptions have been bad decisions. Having said that, he's been more consistent in driving us down the field. We need to do better in protecting whoever is back there. We have a Super Bowl caliber defense and the OL is going to waste it. Having said all of this, watch everything get fixed next year when we host and win the Super Bowl.Nah, Jameis would have to be flawless in passer rating and converting most drives into TDs for him remaining the starter to be a thought. We aren’t sitting a 40M QB on the bench.
Carr hasn’t played poorly for his job to be questioned. He can work on getting the ball out quicker sometimes, but he’s been accurate and makes the throws. Just need more TDs and that’s a variety of factors with run game, blocking and playcalling. He moves the ball down the field at ease when he has average protection.
And a fifth of Jack Daniels
When you say missed, if you mean he didn't throw it to him then yes, he missed him. He threw it to Olave instead.Carr actually missed an open Thomas in the end zone. Also missed Shaheed for a long one. He threw it late in that
