The Ravens, who´ll be with us Sunday in the Superdome, feel like they aren´t just opposing the Saints, they´re playing "the sweethearts of the NFL," as Baltimore coach Brian Billick put it....

...Saints have become the feel-good story of the NFL this season, rallying a city that has been slowly rebuilding.

The Ravens have a connection with the devastation that hit the area because they played a preseason game here two days before Katrina hit. They also have six players who grew up in the area: quarterback Steve McNair and safeties Ed Reed and Dawan Landry, cornerbacks David Pittmann and Ronnie Prude and return specialist B.J. Sams.

They talked about Billick's quote on Cold Pizza. Woody, who had been the king of New Orleans insensitivity, said the comment was inappropriate given everything that has happened. Skip didn't seem to think it was that big of a deal. He said Billick said that so that the refs wouldn't give the Saints all the calls.

I was kind of surprised they picked it as a topic on 1st and 10. I don't necessarily think its the smartest comment for Billick to make, and I don't agree with it. However, I don't really think his comments are that offensive. I think he's really just more "colorfully" saying what people in the league and media have already said or have at least implied.
