What could Saints get right now for Brees, Ingram, Spiller and Jordan. This team is going nowhere fast. They need to stockpile picks and tank a season or two to rebuild and get some talent in.

It's stupid posts like this....well thats from my perspective because I'm not a negative, weak person that gives up I guess?? Good post / sarcasm off.

LOLOLOLOLOL.

I actually love all this talk, because most fans typically have no clue what they are talking about. Which is why Vegas has nice big casinos.

I fully expect them to be 10-6 or better, after reading all these threads/posts I've been seeing about "redbuilding mode" , etc.

What on earth could you possibly gain by letting one of the best young DL man in the league Cameron Jordan go? I mean Brees is getting up there I could at least humor you on that....but Jordan.:idunno:

Cam Jordan is not a dynamic pass rusher. He lacks closing speed. That's why he plays the left side against RTs. For what the Saints have to pay him going forward he isn't worth it.

Re-read my original posts I am not espousing a garage sale, only asking what they might get. You're telling me that if they could get a 2 for Ingram, a 4 for Spiller, a 1 for Jordan and two 1s for Brees, you wouldn't think about it.

The Saints are already in year 2 of a rebuild. They won't call it that, and many fans won't recognize it, but it is what it is. They have a young nucleus on D and have added a few pieces on offense, but still need to address the offensive line and eventually QB.

I don't think we are in an ideal position to satisfy that approach. We ARE actually a semi marketable team at the moment (sponsors, solid fan base, HOF coach and QB, tv exposure..etc)

In an nutshell, there are risks beyond the x's and o's in play. Sorry to say but "fans" (die hards atleast) are not priority these days. It's about business, making $$$ and putting your business in position to make even more $$$ while not losing your current position as a player in your market.

We pretty much lose all that instantly (nobody will feel bad for us..remember bounty gate?) THEN little things become big things: our ownership issues, moving the team, superdome is OLD again all of a sudden, build a new one oh we can't our team sucks totally now..etc

Not to mention you are putting all those picks in the hands of a staff that is not exactly the best group when it comes to landing solids in a Jimmy Johnson type fashion.

in short...the risks faaaar outweigh the "hope" of possible reward.

The current bunch is "entertaining" to nfl fans...I hear it all the time at work "you guys had an awesome game" in my mind...i'm like we lost...but to a casual fan our games are entertaining to watch. This means we are getting views, networks see this and will put a .500 saints team on before an .800+ team simply b/c we at least put ***** behind tv screens at home.

In a sense we are bleeding slowly with the hope of hitting big again. I'll take the slow bleed/hope approach over the instant off switch/hope anyday :9:

TH, that may be the single best response on an Internet forum I have ever read. You are probably correct on just about every point. Thanks for the input.
