NFL Replay: Red-hot Saints emerge as NFC's team to beat
By Jarrett Bell, USA TODAY
USA TODAY's Jarrett Bell wraps up the NFL weekend and hands out his weekly accolades every Tuesday:

1. The Saints are officially the NFC's team to beat. There's still plenty of football to play, but in stacking up the NFC teams the Saints are undoubtedly in the driver's seat after their convincing rout of the Giants. New Orleans — with an upgraded D complementing a fast-break, versatile offense triggered by Drew Brees that is averaging 38.4 points per game — is 5-0 for the third time in franchise history. And the 6-0 Vikings? They certainly rank with their own mojo magic, but surely got the right end of the breaks in defeating the 49ers and Ravens. Hey, it's early. Remember the Titans and G-men of last season? That said, if the Saints can stash enough W's to assure themselves home-field advantage in the playoffs, it could be the ticket to the franchise's first Super Bowl berth.
