There's still plenty of football to play, but in stacking up the NFC teams the Saints are undoubtedly in the driver's seat after their convincing rout of the Giants. New Orleans — with an upgraded D complementing a fast-break, versatile offense triggered by Drew Brees that is averaging 38.4 points per game — is 5-0 for the third time in franchise history. And the 6-0 Vikings? They certainly rank with their own mojo magic, but surely got the right end of the breaks in defeating the 49ers and Ravens. Hey, it's early. Remember the Titans and G-men of last season? That said, if the Saints can stash enough W's to assure themselves home-field advantage in the playoffs, it could be the ticket to the franchise's first Super Bowl berth.
