Red Rifle has lost 12 consecutive prime time road games. Gets start for MNF on the Road against division leading TB. (1 Viewer)

Please no, we need to eradicate that virus immediately.
Exactly, bring a guy in immediately and let him start building the team with their own vision instead of wasting a season within our core players prime on another DA visionless muddlefudge of a season.

For example...how much better off would Carolina have been had they gotten rid of Rhule 2 seasons ago? Do you want Carolina in 22 to be us in 23/24?

They won't listen

You're right anyone with a functioning pair of eyes and brain won't. His stats as an indicator of his quality of play has been disproven so many times that it really shouldn't have to get mentioned again.

Quick summary though. Need 5 yards for yards for a first down, he'll get you 3. Need 7 points best he can do is a FG. Need time for a route to develop downfield, oh look a checkdown. Great for the Red Ryder's stats, bad for the Saints.

If some of the scuttlebutt we heard in recent weeks saying that Jameis has not beaten out Dalton in practice is true, maybe we need to reconsider whether we actually have an NFL starting QB...

averaging 12.5 points the last 4 weeks.

just put winston in so we can at least have some fun.
You really like watching the Defense play. Imagine having Winston throwing at least 2 picks every game and people continuing to defend him. With Dalton the production isn't quite there but the turnovers are at a minimum.

Winston 3 games 4TDs 5INTs
Dalton 9 games 14TDs 7INTs (9 games and has 2 more picks than Winston, LOL)

Great! Dalton had a pretty long streak going and you just jinxed it. 😏

It is not that I don't agree with you, in canning DA at the end of the season. I don't think just changing the coach is going to bring about change we want to see. I just think DA/Loomis need to go together, and move on to new QBs for the 2023 season.

I like our defensive philosophy, and think the defense will come around next yr. If we fire DA, and keep Pete, and/or Loomis. Are we really moving forward? We better hire a very strong offensive minded coach. Playoff teams mostly do it on offense w/ elite QB and play calling coaches. The rules have tilted in favor of QBs and WRs. That is why I favor offensive coach/play callers. There are many good DCs, but not many really good OCs with play calling ability.

Loomis fumbled the ball in not hiring Pederson, in favor of DA. Super bowl coaches , with a proven track record of getting QBs ready to play, don't grow on trees. That guy has the Jags clicking and TL playing well. Had Loomis hired Pederson, DA would have either stayed as DC, or moved on. Nielson would have moved up to DC. Pete would have looked to go where Sean is going. Pederson would have had more back bone and the self preservation life skill, to not get talked into an ill advised playoff run, in his 1st year as coach. I know wishful thinking.

IMHO we need to over haul the offensive side of the ball. Keep the winning culture Sean brought to New Orleans, but it is not predicated on us staffing and implementing his offense. Sean's secret sauce wasn't his offensive scheme, we keep trying to relive. It was his decisions and the accountability of the players. How we were committed to wining. How we treated men, and conducted business. That is the Sean culture. It isn't the bring back the band, and keep Pete and not change a darn thing on offense.

The sad truth right now is Andy Dalton looks like Tarzan between the 20s, but plays like Jane in the red zone.

How can change be accomplished with the same HC? We are trying to maintain the system Sean built without him. Although I understand the desire for an offensive coach, especially with us needing a new QB, the important thing is a winning HC that can put together a top-notch staff. McDermott brought in Daboll, who got the most out of Allen, BB is a great coach and Tomlin. In my view, DA is not head coach material, so trying to rearrange a couple of parts will not do it. Also, our defense has been respectable under DA but not great. Thinking we just needed minor adjustments got us into this situation, and if we keep viewing it the same the insanity will continue.

I think you missed what I was saying. I fixed it. What I am saying is, fire DA/Loomis and bring in new GM/coach and let him pick his QB.

I think if you keep DA for another season...then Pete definitely has to go...to me, that's the only way DA survives to a year 2.

Only catch is that now w/ firing Pete you leave finding another OC up to DA...I don't think he has that kind of clout/connections to find another OC that's worth a damn...so we'd be left with probably promoting from within to repeat the same level of suckage from last (this) year.

So lets just cut the Carolina cycle 2 years short, get rid of both, promote Loomis up to hand of the Queen or something and find a "Football GM" and start fresh. Understand there's going to be some bumps along the way, knowing that status quo wasn't a course we needed to steady.

Dalton is having his 2nd best season ever based on QB rating, his best completion % ever, and there’s a good chance he doesn’t break 3000 yards passing over 14 starts.
