I imagine they feel Walt is the best of the best because you know they made sure to schedule their A team for this game.

Then again, we heard Bill Vinovich and crew was the NFL's A team too.

Until they weren't.

He’s officiated 16 games in the Payton Era, and we’ve posted a 7-9 record in those 16 games. Splits of 4-2 at home and 3-7 on the road.

We were flagged more than our opponent in only 6 of those games (2-4 record).

These are all our games he’s done in the white hat under our current regime...
  • 2007 Week 1 @ Colts, 10-41 L
  • 2007 Week 7 vs. Falcons, 22-16 W
  • 2009 Week 3 @ Bills, 27-7 W
  • 2010 Week 3 vs. Falcons, 24-27 L
  • 2010 Week 7 vs. Browns, 17-30 L
  • 2010 Week 15 @ Ravens, 24-30 L
  • 2011 Week 8 @ Rams, 21-31 L
  • 2011 Week 15 @ Vikings, 42-20 W
  • 2013 Week 14 vs. Panthers, 31-13 W
  • 2014 Week 3 vs. Vikings, 20-9 W
  • 2015 Week 1 @ Cardinals, 19-31 L
  • 2016 Week 6 vs. Panthers, 41-38 W
  • 2016 Week 14 @ Buccaneers, 11-16 L
  • 2017 Week 17 @ Buccaneers, 24-31 L
  • 2018 Week 3 @ Falcons, 43-37 W
  • 2018 Week 13 @ Cowboys, 10-13 L
Let’s see if his crew will actually flag the defenders illegally targeting Kamara’s head because they sure as hell didn’t last year against the Cowboys. They were also blatantly one-sided regarding DPI where Lattimore and Apple were flagged for minimal contact while the Cowboys secondary was allowed to mug our WR’s all game uncalled.

...

It's not the quantity, but the "quality" - it's WHEN they throw a flag (or fail to throw a flag).

And we Saints sure know how that goes!

Can't just look at the ref here. 2007 and 2014-16, the Saints had awful defenses. 2010, the Saints defense under 3G were starting to slide. 2017, WK 17, the Saints playoff position was already decided, and they were mailing it in.

Some of Ls are some of the most 7-9 Payton games ever.

I guess our players are gonna get no call concussion and missed PI.

OH yeah, a lot of one sided holding calls

Not saying it’s all on the referee, I’m simply providing the raw data and letting people form their own opinions instead of me force feeding mine on everyone.

Quite a few of those games, the officiating was the least of our concerns such as:
  • Hartley shanking a 29-yd GW FG in OT against the Falcons in 2010 after the defense got a stop
  • the 2010 game vs. the Browns where Brees threw two pick-6’s to the same guy and we lost by 13
  • the defense being completely out of shape against the Cardinals in Week 1 of 2015 and getting dragged all game

I don't miss Drew Brees pick 6s.
