Reggie's best position (1 Viewer)

Bush is 1st a return specialist and 2nd (new term) wideback.

What's a wideback? A position that lines up in the backfield with a bigback and recieves passes or motions out to wide and slot.

Pierre Thomas is our future premier iback and if you couldn't see that in the Chicago game you are blind. Deuce and steck will be third down and short yardage backs.

so the starter in the future will have the lowest amount of bucks , and the short yardage and 3rd down backs are contaminated with about 60mio$ ? i dont think so

Good so you already understand why we'll be cutting/trading deuce and/ or steck. Deuce is my favorite saint, but he won't be with us if he doesn't renegotiate his contact. He now has two bad knees and isn't getting any younger.

dude, i couldn't read anything past "reggie has better hands than wes welker" part of that post.... it might be a good post but after that comment i couldn't read any further ;(

Did you not see the catch Reggie made during Week 6 against Philly during the 06 season? He caught the ball one handed on the nose! The ball did move, but his hand caught it on the nose, then the ball switched sideways, and he didn't lose control at all. Please point out one instance where Welker at least matched that. Reggie was just inconsistent last year is all. He has awesome hands, just needs to talk to Colston.

Marques Colston has had more receptions in his first two seasons than any other player in the NFL. IIRC, Reggie is either #2 or #3 after having missed several games last season.

He is already the #2 receiver on this team, regardless of what his position is listed as on the roster or his location on a depth chart. If he wants to set the world on fire and be the threat this team needs him to be, he'll embrace his role as a receiver so Drew can start throwing the ball to him downfield instead of behind the line of scrimmage. Let him keep his number, keep him listed as a RB, use him like a RB a couple plays a game. Let's see him lined up outside and running downfield more, though.

Reggie Bush getting the ball in the second level of a defense > All.

I have a couple of problems with Sean Payton, and I'd like to say before I get into that that I believe Payton will bring a Lombardi Trophy home to New Orleans for us. I've even stated that we will be the next dynasty. That being said, why hasn't Reggie Bush been thrown one pass beyond 20 yards? If he has, I'd like to know about it (not counting preseason) because I don't think we've ever done it. I want to see at least one time every game a post route pass to Reggie. What do we have to lose? An interception deep in the other teams territory? An incompletion? How about a touchdown, wouldn't that be great? Payton better wise up, because he's shown us both faces to the same coin, and even when it was the better side(06 season), he didn't throw long bombs to Reggie, which is a complete waste of talent. Just my own opinion.

...I think thats a bit much, you guys want change for the sake of change and I dont get that, cause he hasnt exactly tore the league up with his recieving skills either, all he catches our 5yrd outs or comebacks.

Whose fault is it that he only caught 5yrd outs or comebacks? I'd say the person calling the plays and not utilizing his unique abilities properly.

Totally Agree, I think people use Pierre Thomas as there justification to move Reggie out of his natural position, but they fail to realize that, Pierre future is dependant upon Duece's recovery and the fact that Pierre did a pretty good job in that last game and I think he has opened some eyes and earned a bigger role next year...we havent seen how he does in adversity, people will know who he is now, if Reggie can be a marked man, why cant PT? so lets see how he does when people know who he is.

Pierre opened eyes during the preseason, and many fans, including me, wanted to see more of him during the regular season, but Payton decided otherwise. What we saw against Chicago pretty much, but not absolutely, confirmed what many of us believed. He still needs to prove himself, but that could have already happened by now.
