We went vanilla, they game-planned. This is the reason why. We know what to expect, especially with Payton and Gibbs. Payton did not show what he would do against that defense in a meaningless game. I remember several posters complaining, but this is why. Do we air it out? Do we run it to death, with screens, shovel passes, and sweeps? Noone knows but the team how we will attack this team. We know what they will try. I expect our offense to score at least 30 points.

Vanilla? Man, that's the understatement of the decade. We were flat out bland in that game. I think generic is a better term!

Personally I think after that big run that Bush had he deliberately told his guys to "throw" the preseason. (at least the guys not fighting for spots) :hihi:

We were more like no flavor added.. And it did appear to me they had a game plan for us.. This will be a different game...A tough game to win. One we can win though!

Let's hope the preseason game is not indicative of how it will go. I think we will see lots of Marion Barber, and our o will face 8 men in the box. I think Parcells will not let Reggie be a factor in the running game out of a sense of ego and because he is old school. Parcells believes you win by running and stopping the run. It will be up to DB not to give up the INT's in the passing game he will be forced into. I would expect Colston and Henderson to figure big. Saints can win if we can avoid INT's. I think this game will be the most meaningful for Payton so far.
