Remember the year we signed Spiller, Byrd, Browner and extended Galette? (1 Viewer)

The TOP speaks for itself, the defense was on the field for nearly 40 minutes. It's hard not to be gassed when your offense is sending you back onto the field every three plays. Were they great? Nope, but everything they did was just tossed aside by the offense regardless. Brees was throwing balls into the ground or behind guys the entire game, and anything positive was the player (specifically Kamara) making the best of a five yard lob. Father time has won again, and the lack of MT put a massive spotlight on it.
Uh the defence was on the field so much because they couldn’t stop a drive. Give your head a shake

Sanders is exactly who he’s been for the past few years. Just because he burned the Saints last season doesn’t mean he was great. He had plenty of games that he was on a milk carton.

Most thought we needed a WR2 when there are only so many options that can run routes where Brees can get the ball.
I agree. Sanders is just a name at this point.

He is 33 years old... doesn’t have the break away speed he once had. That’s what made him great.

This thread is a joke. Can we see where we're standing at the halfway point before we just go to all sorts of extremes?

Can someone explain to me how Warford was somehow worse than Peat, Ruiz, or Easton?
But that was the narrative that was pushed through.

Well this year we let an ascending player with great chemistry with the secondary in Bell walk in favor of a guy on the downside who immediately causes locker room strife with an overreaction in Jenkins.

We are not supposed to make comments about how unjustly rude he was to Brees in the off-season.

Remember when everyone was calling Cook a FA bust last year? Lets give Sanders some time. No one should expect 100 yard games but he can still be a solid #2.

With Jenkins outspokeness and history here we are probably going to see a lot of back and forth on these boards every game. He had a bad game. Lets let go of the off-field stuff and just see if he can bounce back. If eventually he does not we have other options. This is nowhere near a Byrd situation. The comparison lacks any merit. Unlike Byrd he is on the field, we have depth behind him, and he didnt sign a crippling contract.

There was no other realistic guard on the market when we signed Peat. He was the only choice.

The Chiefs picked up Kelechi Osemele for $2m and he is playing way above Peat who keeps blowing critical blocks. The worst re-signing since Galette and that was for non football reasons. How did our FO watch Peat in practice and on tape and think he was worth $15m a year

I'm no Peat apologist but he has already contributed more than Galette did after signing a contract. These Byrd/Galette comparisons are ridiculous. There is no comparison. You would have to be talking about cutting Thomas this season or Kamara never playing another snap to get near that level.

We brought back a safety (and captain) that was on the team when we had the worst defense in NFL history. This FO makes the absolute dumbest decisions. Also decided to miss half of an already shortened training camp with his new team. He should have been cut right then. Ravens had the balls to do it with ET, and they're sitting at 2-0
Silly talk.
