That's about what Goldston got... makes sense. That's the going rate for a top-flight safety... which is what Ed Reed is. Even though he's ancient in "football years" the dude is still the best.

Yeah Reed won't get the 5 years Goldson got, due to his age, but 3 yr / $16 million seems pretty reasonable.

I don't see us adding a safety in FA (at least the front end of it). If we were, we would have done something in regards to Harper or Jenkins. We seem clearly focused on adding a CB and I would expect that to largely be it until the draft.

You're forgetting the Saints showed, by chasing Kuper, that they want to add at least one OLB through FA. And they should be looking at versatile Dline depth as well.
