The University of Alabama appeared to move closer to hiring West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez on Thursday night. While day-long negotiations in Tuscaloosa between the two sides did not conclude with an agreement, the university will deliver a contract to Rodriguez on Friday morning, representatives of both sides said Thursday night....

WVU's Rodriguez is Alabama-bound

The Grant Town guy with the down-home, West Virginia euphemisms, the Mountaineers' alum with the wit about jumping off the Westover Bridge, the patent-holder and purveyor of the modern spread offense, the coach with the ballcap, steely sideline demeanor and red-and-green wristbands waving in plays just before the snap -- you can color him gone.

Gone in a Crimson Tide....

A lot more money, a whole lot better facilities, better recruiting, way more tradition with the downside being incredible pressure to win championships - I'd take it.

So does this mean that Pat White may have learn how to play QB next year?

I don't know anything about WVU's facilities, but I understand that 'Bama's aren't exactly SEC quality these days...

Cha Ching!

Mo Money, Mo Money, Mo Money!

West Virginia won't be able to match that offer. He's gone.

How long will Auburn be the #1 team in Alabama now that big money Rich is on his way?

:roadrunner:

Pat White and Steve Slayton will struggle to adjust to a pro style offense next year.

Why do you say that?

Bama has spent over 100 million dollars on facilities and stadium renovations.

I don't see how they couldn't be SEC quality.
