You called it!

And his jersey number will be 25 with ROD patches available at the team store.

I love it. He was a solid starter for us and he's been a starter for two different teams since he left. The way I see it anytime you can bring in another team's starter to be your backup, that's a good deal.

Ha. Just yesterday morning I told my dad that if we lose Kelemete, I bet we sign Bushrod again. Usually, if you're good enough to play tackle, you can slide inside and play guard. It's not as easy of a switch the other way around, which is why Peat is so important to keep healthy.

Bushrod has been starting at guard for a couple years in Miami.

That's what I was saying. They moved him over last year. Was just also saying that since he has a lot of experience at tackle that he'll be even more useful since he's backing up two spots - pretty much just like Kelemete, without the ability to play Center, which, honestly, I don't think Kelemete really did for us outside of practice, pre-season, and/or maybe a snap or two in the regular season.

Another solid, smart move by the front office. They aren't big splash signings, but I really like the approach the Saints are taking, so far. The qb Savage move was the only semi-head scratcher for me, so far.

Savage makes sense only in that we need to have another "vet" (he's only been in the league 4 years) in the QB room so that Taysom Hill has someone other than Brees to go to with things. I'm not saying that Drew doesn't help out his backups in learning the position and all that, but he's so dedicated to his own perfection that I'm sure a lot of the teaching goes through the backup who Brees can teach a lot easier than a green rookie who's never played QB in a pro style offense before.

That's my guess at least. Just like with Chase, if the unthinkable ever happens, the season is pretty much done anyway.

I hear you. It's just this particular backup QB I'm not enamored with. But I trust the F.O. in their decision.

Oh, totally. I did nothing but make fun of him last year. His physical ability to play the position and his ability to break down film may be polar opposites - and probably are - or I don't think they'd have signed him.
