He was definitely a great American. I was a space junkie during the 60's. Loved every minute of it. The Mercury Program was ballsy beyond all measure.

The 60's were an extremely complicated time in US history. Viet Nam, Space Race, Kennedy Assanation, and LBJ deciding not to run after he "lost Walter Cronkite". And then there was Woodstock -- greatest concert ever. I was there.
