And no, not the buffet, swimmer!

His defense, which he deserves all the credit for, has held the amazing Patriots offense to 0 points! 0 points! I mean, yea, it's only halftime, and yea they are down to their 3rd string rookie QB (who is de facto better than half of the starting QBs in the league because he plays for the Patriots) but WOW, Rob Ryan is amazing. I can't believe we fired this guy, I wish we still had him. Saints suck at evaluating a DC, suck at evaluating defensive talent, Benson is senile, Loomis is nuts, and it's all Sean Payton's fault because he's running the whole nation. And I need attention and had to start my own thread to rehash everything that's been said a million times already.

That's for you, showstopper!

Have a great day everyone, WHO DAT!

his defense has been poor up until today

and he is, as you say, going up against a beat up offense with a qb that isnt ready to be out there

I assume your post was utter sarcasm

Let's be clear. He can coach defense, see 2013. I put most of the blame on payton for changing the defense into something that Rob had no control of.

Needed some entertainment. My husband is making me watch the Ryder Cup.

The defense belongs to Rex, who does know what he's doing on that side of the ball anyway.

Rob Ryan has never been consistently above average in his career. He's had moments and sporadic success and middle of the pack defenses that usually stall after a couple of seasons.

He was not a great hire but not as bad as what was produced. He didn't ask for Byrd. That was a Payton/loomis deal and Payton meddled in his defense in 2014 and mandated changes. Messed with success.

So it was a special kind of mutual dysfunction with responsibility to go around the organization. Even Dennis Allen was supposed to be contributing to the game plans last season.

Only Ryan was held accountable.

this has nothing to do with Rob Ryan.

Rex runs the defense and NE is playing a rookie QB with a torn up thumb.

He's not even calling the plays...much less is it "his" defense.
