As of now our top explosive-type speed rusher is Trey Hendrickson. #94 just might be the top all around edge in the league as far as two-way play, but he needs help. Of our 51 sacks, I wonder how many came from calls that just sent our front four? I would guess not many. But when you live off of getting cute Theilen happens. But imagine if we complimented Cam with a guy that was an even better pass rusher than him? Our good defense would suddenly become great! Quinn quietly has been one of the top pass rushers of this era. And don't get me wrong, I love Davenport, Hendrickson and Granderson as prospects, but that title is sitting right there for the taking. Davenport would be the run down edge and slide inside on passing downs. A third and long front of Cam, Davenport, Rankins and Quinn would be absolutely nasty!! Robert Quinn dictates tempo, he doesn't react to it. A TONE SETTER! Put TCU's corner Jeff Gladney with Latty and a restructured JackRabbit with that four bringing pressure and it is absolute HELL for opposing offenses on third and longs. If you can win with just four you get teams off the field on third downs and DBs play a lot more confidently. If we can't land Quinn, keep an eye on Vic Beasley. I think he can be Quinn like as a rush specialist. Just keep him away from all edge setting responsibilities in the run game. Bring back Klein, get Anzalone healthy and what we have just described is not a good, but quite possibly a GREAT DEFENSE. After a few shut outs maybe Coach P might actually start calling an offense to compliment the defense. TWO DAT!!

Wont stop Allen from dropping him into coverage.
We gotta set the tone on defense and become a ball control offense. When you have a good defense and possibly a great special teams (Lutz, Morestead, Harris and Taysom are the best quartet I've seen in a while) you are an absolute fool if you're not complimenting that with a ball control offense. We've got the top "pin them deep" punter of this era and we opt to play majority empty backfield? Smh. I say allow Brees to walk and go RPO with Taysom.

I think the priority free agents are the ones we currently have in house. To bring another big contract would be irresponsible considering that in the next two off-seasons we will have to re-sign some of Ryan Ramzcyk, Alvin Kamara, Marcus Lattimore, Sheldon Rankins, David Onyematta, Von Bell, Marcus Williams.

We should learn how to replace our young players that are leaving with higher offers on second contracts. We also have to play the free agency game better, by claiming released players only since they don't affect the formula of supplementary picks. And more important, we should get a keen eye on bargains.

I agree with you as it pertains to the 2019 team...they definitely should have become more of a ball control team. The 2020 team needs to improve the talent in the passing game so they can play like the team they wanted to be in 2019 with Brees at the helm - 60/40 passing team. I would even argue that a #2 CB (something the team has struggled to find since 2017- Crawley, Apple, Jack Rabbit all started at some point) is more important than a designated pass rusher based on how Allen calls games (3 man rushes 8 DB's on the field)

We are always active in Fa. We will def bring in 3-4 new solid players. We don’t get better if we don’t

I would normally agree with building from within but we MUST make a splash this off-season. If not Payton will risk losing the group. Something must be done to re-ignite the flame yet again.
