Ron Leary remains the odd man out of the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line unit.

He has the ability to start in the NFL, but has been surpassed by second-year pro La’el Collins at left guard. Now, all Leary can do is keep a positive mindset and hope that another team gives the Cowboys enough in return to facilitate a trade.

Leary has been slowed by a groin injury of late and won’t play in Thursday’s preseason game at Seattle, but brushed off the notion that could impact his potential trade value.

“I think every team knows what I can do by now,” said Leary, who started 31 of 32 games at left guard for the Cowboys in 2013-14. “I’ve been playing for a while now, so not playing in a preseason game isn’t going to have teams wondering what I can do.”

Leary, 27, said he feels good physically and is simply taking a cautious approach with the regular season a couple weeks away.

Leary, who sat out voluntary team activities in the off-season after demanding a trade, has kept a positive attitude for the most part. He is under contract for $2.553 million after signing his restricted free agent tender before the draft.

On the other hand the Pats just released Stork who has been practicing at guard for the pats and played guard in college.

Interesting.

Leary = Lelito

If it is an upgrade, It is minuscule and prolly not worth the price we would pay. Why do you think Dallas was interested in bringing Lelito onboard?

Bryan Stork is notably one of the 7 OL not drafted in the 1st round that started for a Superbowl Championship team in his rookie season. Of the seven, 3 were drafted by the Patsies.

Bryan Stork has had a history of concussions. Not sure if the Saints FO gamble on another unhealthy player. Good player but can he stay healthy?

What's the gamble? He has been released and his cap number was going to be less than $800K.

Leary would make Saints line 10 times better. Plug Leary in at RG and move Peat to RT. Then all we would need is a pretty good LG cause Armstead and Unger is just that good. Go get the guy already.

Over the years, people have posted lists of current, available free agent players.

Is there anyone who knows where to go and get that info?
There might be some names we can debate. Leary's name is getting stale :hihi:

Leary and Lelito are the exact same player. Hell I wouldn't even be surprised if Lelito is a little better at pass blocking. The Cowboys tried to sign him even though they already had Leary in house. What does that tell you?
