Ross Jackson’s biggest takeaways from Loomis, Moore and Ireland at the combine (114 Viewers)

10 wins is doable for many teams especially in our division as we play each other

injuries and the bounce of the ball plays a big role

think we would have gone 13-0 (13-3) if we didn't get a favorable bounce during the season

wrong bounce on onside kick most likely would have cost that game

10 under Moore's first year with what he has currently on the roster would be beyond expectations

Saints will keep Taysom, look to add edge rushers and NT, Penning staying at RT and Saints will be a lot more active in free agency. Look for Carr to restructure to make cap room for free agency.

Restructure?! That is alarming that they are considering restructuring Carr.

Oh and to be clear…. I love what we’ve done by completely upsetting the apple cart from a coaching standpoint. That was always obvious step 1…

But now is also the time to rip the bandaid off from a player personnel perspective… To build a long term winner. The longer we wait the longer it will be before we are truly competitive…. And we are also subsequently wasting a year of a good young coach’s career in the process.

It’s time to dump old and bad contracts. Fill a couple holes in the lines with cheap FAs…. And Draft young and exciting player makers that make this team worth watching while we develop a young QB or 3 over the next 2 seasons.

This defense is on the way down, and will take longer to fix. So let’s just be drunk Sunday offense fun while we start the rebuild. That’s my vote.

Not saying any of this is easy…. But it needs to be done now.
I've said before, I'd rather keep Carr and start shedding the older vets. Carr can be a bridge QB. Yes he's expensive but the Saints gave him the contract.

Honestly, I can't watch anymore bad offense. For years it was downright BORING. At least we had some semblance of offense with Carr at times last year. Fix the defense, stay healthy and develop another QB as we go so that way they are walking into a team with upside.

Going to keep referencing this thread. We're not as bad as the 8 teams picking in front of us. Our DVOA both offensively and defensively puts us closer to the level of a Cardinals/Seahawks but injuries put us int he win column w/ teams like the Jets/Panthers who we're far better than. That easily points to a quick turn around if this staff is better than last years, can hit on our draft picks, and have better injury luck.

None of those are far cry's. This whole narrative of this being a depleted team that's missed on a plethora of draft picks and has no talent is just wrong lol.

I said this about 2 years ago & started a fire storm with numerous clowns...
He has been overpaid for his number of touches for awhile now.

Next year you are correct it is ridiculous...
Hopefully he & FO come to a new contract that is more team friendly that isn't back-loaded...
Yeah I love Taysom but I would completely understand if he got cut. If i remember correctly 10 mil/year puts him as like the 4 or 5th highest paid RB which is basically what he has become. RB with a twist. Is he worth that at 35 coming off ACL+? I would expect him to take a pay cut or be cut. Like the old adage, "better a year too early than a year too late". If he leaves and goes off with another team then good for him.

Agreed. The team lacked depth, certainly, but not talent.

And if it goes well?
You honestly believe that it will? So, we’re just going to keep crossing our fingers despite the overwhelming evidence showing this team needs a reset. Pushing Carr’s $$ into future years is incredibly short sighted. Why not just let it cone off the books this year, and if it goes well, then you restructure?

I believe that it could. The Saints suffered from bad luck as much as anything else last year so I certainly think the pendulum could swing the other way.

10-25% chance we get 10 wins? The team has some talent, but we’re paper thin. I’m cool with keeping Carr for this year, but I am very concerned they are considering pushing his $$ into future years.

I have no idea (nor does anyone else) what the percentages are. Let's let Free Agency and the draft happen before we give up.

Not of fan of keeping Carr past the '25 season.
Sounds like it won't be a general restructure for Carr where he just gets his money up front. I mean health wise he missed 7 games so giving some of that money back would only be right. I'd be ok w/ Keeping him beyond that so long as the #'s line up. He'd be a valuable #2 as his years wind down.
