***RUMOR*** les Miles reaching out to Mike Leach for his interest in the LSU OC job (1 Viewer)

From an article in The Advocate today:
There has been speculation that offensive coordinator Gary Crowton may not return. Crowton is in the final year of a three-year contract that pays him a base salary of $400,000.

"There's a party go on 'round here..."

:snoopy::fest30::banan25::piano::a_smil09::tbhdance::beerchug::bravo-applaudi-147:

100k is too much for Crowton and you'd think for 300k we'd get more than 1 page of the book

The catch was that the translation device for the playbook cost another $100,000...

Leach made TEXAS TECH a good team for several years. In 9 seasons he never had a losing season, won 9+ games 4 times, finished ranked 5 times and won 5 bowl games.

At Kentucky, his offenses broke 4 NCAA, 42 SEC, and 116 school records. At TT, his offenses broke 150 total records between NCAA, Big 12, and TT. He's also had 6 offensive players win postseason awards (Crabtree won Best WR, Harrell won Best Senior QB, Wes Welker won Best KR, and Harrell, Kliff Kingsbury, and BJ Symons all won Outstanding QB).

Think of what he could do with an entire state of talent to call his own.

:17: At he had to compete for talent with Texas, A&M in state alone and then OU and OSU, etc. With the talent we have here alone.... :worthy:

He just took a job with CBS sports, nut I haven't seen or heard him once. Not sure if he's been humbled enough for an OC job, but he sure would be nice to have on the staff. He's not going to accept Miles' meddling, either much like Pellini and Chavis. That's a <strike>good</strike> great thing.

I can hear the Jean LaFitte references now...
