Rumor: Saints checking in on availability of Brandin Cooks (1 Viewer)

Time heals all wounds. I guess. Cooks has been productive and he could roll out of bed tomorrow morning and be our #1 WR. That's assuming he doesn't get a concussion rolling out of bed.

The fact that we're even talking about this possibility is not ideal. MT really did a number on us but even with MT, it wasn't like we were going to be loaded at WR.

He's a Payton kind of a receiver.... 6'4 big guy.

If he's a real option and could be had for a late round pick, Patrick would be the best option IMO. Great size, can work underneath and stretch the field, had 51 catches for 742 yards last season, and entering his prime at 27 years old. Only two players last season had 70+ targets and zero drops: Patrick and Fitzgerald. This guy is a legit #2, exactly what we've all been begging for, and is a great long term solution instead of just a stop gap.

Just signed a 1 year $3.4M deal. The Broncos put a 2nd round tender on him before the signing, so it's unlikely they'd take a 5th round pick for him. Maybe a 3rd or 4th would get it done, which I think is actually a fair value for both sides. For reference, we drafted Tre'Quan in the third.

Apparently, Cooks doesnt wants to be traded anywhere right now. In other words, he doesn't want to be traded to the Saints. (Sounds someone is still holding a grudge against us)

During the 9 game winning streak last year, he did just that...often....

It's easy to say, "just run the ball", but during the 9 game winning streak, the defense was playing well and they weren't behind. When the Saints are ahead, they run. When they are behind, they pass. The defense needs to step up.
