SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The New Orleans Saints looked like a balanced offensive juggernaut in a 41-23 win Sunday over the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium.
Running back Mark Ingram and rookie wide receiver Michael Thomas each scored two touchdowns, and suddenly, the Saints (4-4) are back to .500, successfully digging out of their 0-3 hole to start the season.
The Saints' defense had its share of issues as the 49ers gained 486 yards, but four takeaways helped New Orleans limit the scoring.
On paper, this looked like a game the Saints would have a chance to dominate. After running the ball well against the Seattle Seahawks last week, a matchup with a San Francisco defense allowing a league-worst 185.1 rushing yards per game appeared ripe
