The Ryder Cup competition starts today. I love the Ryder Cup as much as the players who participate in it. They will start this morning with four groups in the Foursomes Competition which is an alternate shot format.

Ryder Cup pairings, schedule today

Match 1

Match 2

Match 3

Match 4

USA 6 --- EUR 2 at the end of the day. Good start.

The USA team will send out the same 4 twosomes they sent out today for the "fourballs" phase in the morning. Good call by Stricker.

How can I get the crickets to shut up?

With only 3 1/2 points needed for the US to take back the Cup, it would be the greatest collapse of all time if Europe could somehow pull this one out. The Euros would need to win 9 out of 12 matches tomorrow to retain the Ryder Cup.

So I wonder what the odds are of that happening?

Well, Bill, it is still called the 2020 Ryder Cup even though it is being played in 2021. And 2020 and 2021 have been Twilightzonelike. Anything can happen.

I’ve lost count of the times Europe came back in this thing so I never feel confident enough. Been watching since I was in Jr High and it sometimes feels like what being a Falcons fan must. Although I like a lot of European players too. Take it back, nothing feels like what being a Falcon fan must.
