I posted a song on another thread and realized how much I love sad songs.

I think it's about triggering emotion. What song(s) get to you? And what are your thoughts about them?

Yeah, I'd say Nutshell is ranked pretty high up there but the sadness of down in a hole speaks to me in a whole different way than Nutshell.

This is hard to describe. It's sad but it brings me peace.

this was a 'local' band - the lead, Alex MacMurray is mostly a solo act now though he has Tin Men and some other side projects

I'll offer up a couple:

Last Kiss - Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers (yes, Pearl Jam covered this)


This one may evoke/provoke some strong responses due to the subject matter. To me, it is more powerful and telling than sad, but I've been on both sides of the issue, and I don't wish to go into any further detail at this point.
