Is anyone else as worried about the free safety position as me? bullocks isnt good, and i dont think anyone believes kaesviharn is the real answer. I know Kenny Phillips would be a reach at number 10, but im surprised we havent been a little more active in that area. i havent even heard anything.

Gibril Wilson was the only FS worth anything in FA, and he was going to the Raiders from the start. Let's see how the draft plays out, there are some intriguing guys, I bet we take one.

I am as worried as you. But there wasn't much we could do about it in free-agency. Further, K.Phillips is a reach at 1.10 and I like most here would rather get a DT or CB at that spot. Further, if we use our 2-round pick on a safety, we'll probably end up with somebody as good as Bullocks. Maybe if we trade for the Cowboys' two 1-round picks...

He might be a reach at #10, but he would provide an instant impact IMO.

Phillips in the 1st and Laws in the 2nd and I'd be a happy camper. Don't know if Laws will last that long, but it would be nice.

Big concern for me as well, We still had the #4 rated offense this year and I don't see losing faine to much of a loss( hope I don't eat my post) but I'm thinking we should be throwing most if not all the draft at DEFENCE, but I fully expect our FO to get something to good to pass up on Offence, like Antonio Pittman.

You might see a safety picked in the 5th round... there are some attractive options out there.

As far as offense, I expect the Saints to draft a tight end or WR/KR in rounds two or three.

I think Kaesveharn could do just fine if they let him.

I'm just hoping we get lucky and somebody like Kenny Phillips or Dan Conner slips to us in the second. I thought Kaesviharn did a good job of being around the ball when he actually got to play, especially in pass coverage. I was disappointed not to see more of him at S or CB, considering our problems in the secondary. I

KK did do a good job, but I think he was more important in getting Harper in position. That changed the secondary quite a bit.

I think we'll see an improved play from Bullocks and Harper due to the upgrade at LB. The safeties won't have to play run first, which should allow them to play a bit deeper from the snap, which "should" eliminate the one-step-too-late positions on the deeper routes, as well as, having one more year of experience for both Bullocks and more importantly, Harper. While Bullocks certainly performed poorly last year, to me, it looked like Harper was the bigger problem in regards to being out of position, particularly on the deeper routes.

Thats backed up by the fact that Harper was benched by coach. But he is a forum favorite so everyone thinks he is a beast. He and Bullocks have alot of improving to do. This is probably the last year for Bullocks to prove himself.
