Saints 11th in overall defense (1 Viewer)

It's interesting, the Saints are 11th in total Defense, the Eagles 15th yet you listen to ESPN and all they talk about are how Eagles DC, Jim Johnson, is going to defend the Saints. There seems to almost mythical talk about the Eagles aggressive Defense by the talking heads. Yet the Eagles are four spots below the Saints. To me 15th means you are an average NFL Defense and 11th means you are slightly above average.......

Yep. Overall our offense is roughly equal, but our defense is actually a good amount stronger. Not just in yards, but other important stats also.

our Defense IS A LOT BETTER THAN IT'S RANK, TAKE AWAY THE FEW LONG RUNS AND WE ARE UP IN THE TOP 5, THESE LONG RUNS DID NOT HURT US, BUT I AFFECTS OUR RANKING. WE ARE A LOT BETTER THAN THE RANK

numbers are good and all, but the redskins seem to come to mind all of a sudden, it is good news though.

Tomorrow's the day. I'm never going to be able to sleep tonight. Ugh.

Yes, I remember at the beginning of the year.. I liked our chances with some of the new skill players on Offense, but I was very worried about our Defense.. But damn if our Defense hasn't pulled through when they needed to on some of these games.

And when our O can pull off some of these 8 minute + drives, that is HUGE for our Defense, keeps the opponent O off the field and gives our D a chance to rest and then come out and KICK BUTT..

I'm falling apart over here waiting for this game.. now I don't know if I'm jinxing myself here.. I've had a few rules all year long, such as no company over on game day, and no one was allowed to wear Saints jerseys or T's on game day. Tomorrow I'm throwing all caution to the wind, and inviting over several friends and nephews to join me and the fam on game night.. Goin' for broke as it were..

UGHHHHHHH

:gosaints:

thats interesting because most of the time we are playing with the lead, so teams are having to pass on us.

Typically they're referring to the Saints 31st ranked 4.9 yds/carry. Suprisingly that rank is tied with the Jim Haslett/Rick Venturi rush Defense of the Rams. However, Philly isn't much better yielding 4.5 yds/carry.

The over/under is ~49 for this game. If I were in Vegas, I'd take the over.
